SATANIC HORROR IN SOMERSET: WOMAN CHARGED IN DOZENS OF ANIMAL CRUELTY COUNTS AFTER 2024 TRAILER PARK DISCOVERY OF TORTURED, DEAD ANIMALS
Somerset Borough, PA — After more than a year of investigation, a Somerset woman linked to satanic activities has finally been criminally charged in one of the most disturbing animal cruelty cases to hit the region in recent memory. Amber Nicole Russell, 29 (DOB 06/14/1996), was formally charged on December 31, 2025, in Magisterial District Court 16-03 under docket MJ-16303-CR-0000466-2025.
The case traces back to the summer of 2024, when officers from the Somerset Borough Police Department, along with humane police from the Pennsylvania Animal Protective Society and SPCA Inc., responded to a tip at the troubled Cherry Lane trailer park (also known as Cherry Lane Estates) on Cherry Lane. What they uncovered was a scene of unimaginable horror: dozens of animals — cats, dogs, and others — found dead, tortured, mutilated, or in extreme states of neglect and starvation inside and around a problematic trailer.
Investigators described evidence of deliberate cruelty, including signs of physical abuse, starvation leading to death, failure to provide veterinary care, and inadequate shelter/protection — acts allegedly tied to the defendant’s involvement in satanic rituals and activities. The trailer park itself has long been plagued by instability: a notorious hotspot for suspicious fires, with a documented string of arsons and suspected arson incidents dating back to 2018. Multiple vacant trailers were repeatedly set ablaze (at least 16 confirmed arsons or attempts between 2018–2019 alone, plus additional incidents in later years), prompting intense police and fire marshal investigations, neighborhood watch alerts, and even fines against the property owner for failing to clean up fire-damaged debris. Residents lived in fear amid the blazes, vandalism, and a general atmosphere of lawlessness that some locals believe created an environment where extreme cruelty could go unchecked for extended periods.
According to the official criminal docket (printed January 5, 2026), Russell now faces a staggering total of over 65 criminal counts, including:
- 4 felony counts (Grade F3) of Aggravated Cruelty to Animals – Causing Serious Bodily Injury or Death under 18 Pa.C.S. § 5542 (offenses dated 07/01/2024).
- Dozens of misdemeanor counts (mostly Grade M2, some Grade S) of Cruelty to Animals under 18 Pa.C.S. § 5553, Neglect of Animals – Shelter/Protection under 18 Pa.C.S. § 5552, and Neglect of Animals – Veterinary Care under various subsections.
The charges stem from offenses allegedly committed on or about July 1, 2024, though the underlying conduct dates to the 2024 raid. The case was filed by the Somerset Borough Police Department (arresting officer: Kevin E. Huzsek), with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania (Somerset County District Attorney’s Office) representing the prosecution

As of the latest entry , the case status is active and awaiting a Preliminary Hearing before Judge Scott Walker. Russell has requested a public defender, has not yet been fingerprinted, and the docket lists a modest 5,000 dollars bail.
This long-delayed charging brings a measure of accountability to a case that shocked the community and highlighted persistent issues in the Cherry Lane area — from serial suspicious fires that terrorized residents for years to the unchecked suffering of defenseless animals. Animal welfare advocates have long criticized slow enforcement in rural cruelty cases, but today’s development shows persistence can prevail.
Crime Vault Magazine commends the joint efforts of local police, humane officers, and prosecutors for finally bringing charges. The animals found in that trailer cannot be brought back, but justice delayed is still justice. We will continue to follow this case as it moves toward preliminary hearing and potential trial.
