Union City, Georgia – Federal Bureau of Investigation agents raided the Fulton County Election Hub and Operations Center on January 28, 2026, executing a court-authorized search warrant to seize records related to the 2020 presidential election.
The raid targeted the county’s main elections facility in Union City, just south of Atlanta. According to multiple sources and official statements, the warrant—signed by Magistrate Judge Catherine M. Salinas—authorized agents to collect physical ballots from the 2020 election, ballot images, and Fulton County’s 2020 voter rolls.
The FBI confirmed the action in a brief statement, describing it as a “court-authorized law enforcement activity.” Fulton County officials stated that the warrant sought “a number of records related to 2020 elections” and emphasized full compliance with federal authorities. County leaders, including Board of Commissioners Chairman Robb Pitts, noted they were not notified in advance of the raid.
The search comes amid renewed efforts by the Trump administration to examine claims of irregularities in the 2020 election results in Georgia, a state that has been central to election challenges since 2020. Multiple prior investigations, audits, and court rulings have found no evidence of widespread fraud sufficient to alter the outcome.
Fulton County Court Clerk Ché Alexander reported a large presence of federal agents and vehicles at the facility. The raid concluded later on January 28, with agents reportedly removing boxes of materials.
This development follows President Trump’s public statements promising prosecutions related to the 2020 election. Critics, including Georgia Senator Jon Ossoff, have described the action as part of a “sore loser’s crusade,” while supporters view it as necessary accountability.
