Explosive new details have emerged in the scandal rocking Puerto Rican politics: Senate Majority Leader Gregorio Matías Rosario stands accused of raping a woman in Santurce, Puerto Rico, while he was still a police officer — and then allegedly making deadly threats when she prepared to hit him with a paternity test proving he fathered her now-15-year-old daughter.

According to sources close to the victim, the brutal assault took place years ago in Santurce when Matías wore the badge of the Puerto Rico Police Department. The woman, terrified and traumatized, gave birth to a daughter who is now 15 — the alleged living proof of that rape.
When the victim recently gathered the courage to move forward and planned to serve Matías with legal papers demanding a paternity test, the powerful senator allegedly responded with direct death threats. Fearing for her life and the safety of her child, the accuser has gone into hiding, living in constant terror of retaliation from one of the island’s most influential politicians.
Friends of the victim reportedly contacted the FBI with the allegations, adding to what our sources describe as the Bureau’s already extensive files on Matías. Those files reportedly document a long and troubling history of corruption, excessive force complaints, and misconduct dating back to his days as a cop — including multiple civil lawsuits and settlements paid by the government of Puerto Rico for alleged violations of citizens’ rights.
Matías, who rose from the police ranks to become an at-large senator and current Majority Leader in the Puerto Rico Senate under the Partido Nuevo Progresista (PNP), has repeatedly found himself at the center of controversy. Critics say his record as a police officer was marred by accusations of brutality, yet he continued to climb the political ladder and now sits in a position of immense power, including oversight roles tied to public safety.
This latest bombshell builds on prior reporting about the hidden daughter, the alleged rape, and growing calls for a full federal investigation. Activists and those close to the case are demanding that the FBI act decisively: investigate the rape allegation, the death threats, and Matías’ broader pattern of alleged corruption — and remove him from office before more harm is done.
“A man accused of raping a woman while in uniform, then threatening to kill her to cover it up, has no business leading the Senate,” one source told Crime Vault Magazine. “The FBI has the files. The people of Puerto Rico deserve answers — and justice.”

The vaults don’t lie. A crooked cop turned crooked senator allegedly using his power to silence a rape victim? This story is far from over.
