A bombshell accusation has emerged against Puerto Rican Senator Gregorio Matías, alleging he raped a woman approximately 15 years ago in Puerto Rico. According to a whistleblower’s explosive Facebook post, the assault resulted in the victim giving birth to a daughter—who is now exactly 15 years old.
The alleged victim, a resident of Connecticut (USA), has reportedly received recent threatening phone calls directly from the senator. In one chilling message, sources close to the case say Matías warned her: “If you talk, I will kill you.” These death threats have reignited terror for the woman, who has lived in silence while raising her teenage daughter—living proof, according to the whistleblower, of the alleged crime.
The whistleblower, whose identity remains protected for safety reasons, claims this is no isolated incident. Senator Matías has long been linked to corruption and organized crime networks in Puerto Rico. His background includes years as a Puerto Rico Police officer (rising to Lieutenant Second Class), during which he faced multiple complaints of police brutality, domestic violence, threats, inappropriate language, and civil rights violations. Federal investigations into the PRPD highlighted patterns of abuse that contributed to the sweeping police reform consent decree. Two documented brutality cases alone cost taxpayers over $165,000 in settlements: one for $90,000 (confidential) and another for $75,000 involving an unjust arrest and beating.
Adding to the pattern, Matías’s own son, Gregory Matías Gutiérrez, was recently sentenced to 17 years in federal prison for drug trafficking, conspiracy to commit a violent crime, and involvement in the murder of a police officer—highlighting deep family ties to violent criminal activity.
Matías, who has sponsored legislation on gender violence and protection orders, now stands accused of using his influence to intimidate a survivor with direct threats. No formal charges have been publicly filed for the rape allegation as of now, but the whistleblower demands an immediate investigation: “A 15-year-old girl is living evidence of this horror. This cannot be buried.”
