DAVID GRUSCH BLOWS UP HIS OWN STORY: FORMER AIR FORCE INTEL OFFICER TELLS JOE ROGAN U.S. PERSONNEL WERE KILLED BY A LIVING “REPTILIAN” AFTER A UFO CRASH
Rogan: “Why did they shoot at it? Why not just ask it to have his homies pick him up?” Grusch: “Because it was killing people.”

The man who walked into Congress in 2023 and said “nonhuman biologics” just went somewhere his sworn testimony never went.
On The Joe Rogan Experience #2560, recorded September 30, 2026, former U.S. Air Force intelligence officer David Grusch told Joe Rogan that colleagues described a crash retrieval where living reptilian beings were found with the wreckage — and that U.S. personnel were injured and killed in the encounter. When Rogan asked the obvious question — why shoot it instead of letting its own people come get it — Grusch’s answer was blunt: because it was killing people.
That line is already ripping through UFO circles. It is also the line that puts the most distance between what Grusch said under oath and what he is saying on a podcast.
WHAT HE ACTUALLY SAID
Grusch is not claiming he stood at the site. He is not claiming he watched a firefight. He is not claiming he saw a living reptilian with his own eyes.
He says the account is secondhand. Colleagues, he told Rogan, saw them alive. The beings he described as reptilian-looking were tied, in his telling, to a Tic Tac–type craft. Reporting on the episode says the description that circulated from the interview includes creatures more than seven feet tall, heavy-built, scaly, and aggressive enough that recovery teams treated them as a threat. Dead “grays” were also said to be at the site, which Grusch framed as a sign the craft may have gone down in a fight between non-human groups, not a simple mechanical failure.
He has also said, on the same appearance, that he personally viewed contemporary video of deceased non-human bodies from a retrieval — human-looking, pale bluish-white, long gray hair, three or four bodies. That is a separate claim from the living-reptilian firefight story. One he attributes to footage he says he saw. The other he attributes to colleagues.
Rogan pressed him. The exchange that is driving the headlines is the one in the deck: why shoot, why not call for a pickup. Grusch’s answer, as circulated from the episode: because it was killing people. He has said he cannot give a body count. He has predicted more witnesses will come forward.
THIS IS NOT THE 2023 TESTIMONY
On July 26, 2023, Grusch sat under oath before the House Oversight Committee. Rep. Nancy Mace asked whether recovered craft had contained bodies. His answer: “Biologics came with some of these recoveries.” Human or nonhuman? “Nonhuman.”
He immediately tied that conclusion to other people. It was, he said, “the assessment of people with direct knowledge on the program” whom he had interviewed.
That hearing never named reptiles. It never described a firefight. It never said American personnel were killed by living beings pulled from a crash. “Nonhuman biologics” is a carefully hedged phrase. A seven-foot reptilian killing U.S. troops is a specific allegation with names, wounds, and a crime scene attached — none of which have been produced in public.
The 2023 statements were sworn. The Rogan conversation is not. That does not prove the new story false. It does change the evidentiary status. A podcast is not a hearing. An unnamed colleague is not a witness Congress can cross-examine.
WHO GRUSCH IS
Congress has identified him as a former National Reconnaissance Office representative to the UAP Task Force and a former co-lead for UAP analysis at the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency. He is a real intelligence officer, not a random podcaster. He has said he interviewed people he believes had direct knowledge of crash-retrieval programs. He put the broader allegation — hidden programs, recovered craft, nonhuman biologics — into sworn testimony and into complaints filed with the Intelligence Community Inspector General.
That background is why the clip lands. It is also why the gap matters. The most explosive details still rest on unnamed sources and material that has not been shown to the public.
WHAT THE GOVERNMENT HAS SAID ON THE RECORD
The Pentagon’s All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office, in its March 2024 Historical Record Report, Volume I, said it found no verifiable evidence that the U.S. government or private companies have been reverse-engineering extraterrestrial technology. AARO said no U.S. investigation it reviewed had confirmed a UAP as extraterrestrial technology, and that claims it examined about hidden reverse-engineering programs were inaccurate, misidentified real national-security programs, or programs that never existed as described.
NASA’s public position remains that it has found no credible evidence of extraterrestrial life and no evidence that UAP are extraterrestrial in origin.
Those findings do not prove a reptilian firefight is impossible. They mean the public record still has no independently verifiable evidence that a crashed craft held living reptilian beings, that those beings attacked U.S. personnel, or that American personnel killed them.
THE UNRESOLVED TENSION
Grusch has a documented intelligence career. He has put parts of the larger story under oath. He says he has interviewed people with direct knowledge and, on Rogan, that he has seen retrieval video of non-human dead.
The reptilian killing claim is newer, more specific, and not sworn. It depends on secondhand testimony. No names of the dead. No unit. No date. No location. No footage. No autopsy. No after-action report.
Until one of those surfaces, Crime Vault is treating this as what it is: an extraordinary allegation from a credentialed whistleblower, delivered on a podcast, that goes far past what he told Congress — and that the government’s own public investigations still do not corroborate.
If the witnesses he keeps promising ever sit down under oath and put a name, a date, and a body on this story, the file changes. Until then, the reputation risk is his.
